Chiropractic Care

Chiropractors are expert physicians of the spine, muscles, and nervous system.  They provide qualified, effective treatment to promote health, alleviate pain, and improve your quality of life!

Our doctors have extensive experience providing chiropractic care for people of all ages including infants, children, adults and seniors.  Simply put, everyone with a spine and nervous system could potentially benefit from chiropractic care.

Chiropractors focus on your alignment and movement to treat the bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints and connective tissues that you use every day. Proper alignment and movement provides physical stability, enables you to move your body, and protects your vital organs. This alignment and movement directly affect other vital systems in your body, which is why medical professionals, researchers, and the health community at large trust the spine care expertise of chiropractors to assess, diagnose, and treat conditions related to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) and injuries. For optimal health and quality of life, a chiropractor should be part of every Canadian’s healthcare team.

Approximately 1 million British Columbians visit a chiropractor each year!

Orthotics

Your feet are well abused, and often neglected foundations of your body.  Our office provides Footmaxx custom prescription orthotic insoles as well as generic versions of inserts for your shoes or sandals to improve the movement and support needed to relieve pain in your feet, knees or back, or prevent these conditions in many cases.

Patient Info

If you are visiting a chiropractor for the first time, expect to provide a health history. This may include asking you about any illnesses, past surgeries, medications and other health issues.

The chiropractor will ask you about your pain and conduct a physical examination to assess and diagnose the problem. Sometimes x-rays may be required. Your chiropractor will explain the findings of the assessment to you and discuss the treatment recommendations, ensuring your consent to treatment is informed and your questions are answered.

Fees & Coverage

MSP, ICBC, WorkSafeBC & Extended Health:

There are several programs available that provide partial or full coverage of treatment expenses for the patient. If you are eligible for any of these programs, your chiropractor can assist you with obtaining coverage and will answer any questions you may have.

Medical Service Plans (MSP):

If you are currently enrolled in the MSP Premium Assistance Program, MSP contributes a portion of each visit for a combined annual limit of 10 visits each calendar year for the following services: acupuncture, chiropractic, massage therapy, naturopathy, physical therapy and non-surgical podiatry.

WorkSafeBC:

Workers who are injured on the job and who qualify for workers compensation benefits are covered from four to eight weeks of chiropractic treatment at no cost to the worker. Treatment may not coincide with additional treatments (eg. physiotherapy) without prior approval from WorkSafeBC. If you have been hurt on the job, contact your family chiropractor immediately to begin recovery.

ICBC:

Our office accepts injury cases resulting from car accidents.  A user fee is paid by the patient which is in most cases reimbursed by ICBC.  Contact your chiropractor as soon as possible if you have been involved in a crash. They will complete all of the required injury reports.

Extended Health Insurance:

If you or your employer has a policy with a Health Insurance Provider, your visits could be reimbursed by your plan.  Over 60% of British Columbians have insurance benefits through Pacific Blue Cross. Most group benefit plans offer medical coverage for chiropractic treatments.
